Aluminum Alloy 1100 Wire Mesh – Alloy Overview
Aluminum alloy 1100 wire mesh is the most heavily alloyed of all the commercially pure “1000 series” aluminum alloys, and has a minimum aluminum content requirement of 99.0%. As with other aluminum alloys, aluminum 1100 offers excellent corrosion resistance, even in extremely corrosive environments. While it will lose strength if subjected to high temperatures (390°F to 480°F), its strength can be increased via cold working (note: aluminum 1100 cannot be heat-treated). Some characteristics of aluminum alloy 1100 wire cloth which dictate its use are:

Industries & Applications
Aluminum alloy 1100 wire cloth is principally used in cold-worked parts and decorative architectural trim, grills, and screens. Given its softness, it is not used in applications requiring high-strength or high-pressure. That said, aluminum alloy 1100 wire cloth is a perfect choice for use in applications where electrical conductivity is required.
